My story

My story as a winemaker began in 2019 when I had the opportunity to take over a 7-hectare plot of bare land in a single block. A real playground for creating my estate and fulfilling the dream that had always been with me. I've always wanted to make wine.
This passion was passed on to me by my parents who had a few vines in Moldavia, the country my family comes from, and who made their own wine.

My estate

It comprises 8 hectares of certified organic vines. To start production straight away, I acquired 4 hectares of vines in the commune, then planted 4 hectares in vitiforestry: rows of vines and rows of olive trees alternate, creating ecological corridors covered with melliferous flowers. The soil is made up of Oligocene marl sediments and sandstone speckled with quartz grains that were once brought down from the Cévennes by rivers.

My wines

In the cellar as in the vineyard, I work to preserve the living character of the vines, the grapes and the wine. The grapes are vinified using the Natural Method. Fermentation starts spontaneously with the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grape skins. Thanks to the terroir, the temperature variations between day and night and the vinification process used, the wines are fresh, fine, light and with a beautiful intensity.

Planting vines

Budget : €15,000

I planted 14 grape varieties and 240 trees on a 7-hectare plot of vitiforestry land. However, 80% of the 2.5 hectares of vines and 240 trees were unable to withstand the hydric stress and unusual drought that hit our region in 2022.
In 2023, I replanted 50% of the affected vines. I would now like to replant the other half.

1st year maintenance

Budget : €5,000

To give these new plantations the best chance of taking root, a lot of work needs to be done in the first year. For example, we'll need to do some manual weeding around each vine in order to limit competition for water and nutrients. We may also need to water the vines to help the roots take hold in the soil.

Planting olive trees

Budget: €3,000

I would also like to replant the olive trees that have died: 8 local varieties. Trees in vineyards create resources and habitats for auxiliary fauna, they provide organic matter in the form of leaves, they decompact the soil thanks to the deep root system, they create shade and a microclimate.
