A young dynamic woman dedicated to her work
After studying accounting, I started my professional career working on several family estates. However, I soon found that working with my parents and brother on the family estate was far more fulfilling and the knowledge gained from this beautiful experience meant I could start La Ganse in 2008 with little difficulty.
I work alone on 80% of my estate. I do however employ part-time workers for some manual work in the vineyard, and I outsource the soil management and organic treatments to an outside company who I completely trust. Together we have put together a list of parameters on how best to work the vineyard. I also have help in the cellar and work very closely with my enological consultant who has understood my vision for La Ganse perfectly. We have worked together for years, and this close partnership has been key to the development of La Ganse. When not in the cellar or the vineyard I can be found in the onsite shop or the office doing admin and selling La Ganse to France and around the world.
Each year and harvest is different, and a vigneron must prepare for all eventualities, the unknown, or more extreme weather conditions including more drought, or even a market that is increasingly becoming dominated by consumers unwilling to try new wines.
What I love about this job is that every vintage has its own story, and each cuvee is a way to understand that story
