LE CHÂTEAU DE BEL
Un lieu où il fait bon vivre et travailler, où il est bon de faire du vin et d’en boire, un lieu accueillant, en bord de la Dordogne, à taille humaine, où l’on s’embrasse le matin pour se dire bonjour, où l’on se respecte et s’estime. Et c’est ainsi que nous voulons le conserver.
6 hectares en appellation Bordeaux Supérieur (bientôt 8 certainement) avec 4 à 5 cuvées selon les millésimes: Un Bordeaux rosé, un Bordeaux rouge, 2 Bordeaux Supérieur et un Vin de France 100% Cabernet Franc (Franc de Bel)
0,7 hectare en appellation Pomerol: Clos du Canton des Ormeaux
1,6 hectare en appellation Montagne St-Emilion avec 2 à 3 cuvées selon les millésimes: Château les Hautes Graves, Achille et une nouvelle cuvée en macération carbonique.
C'est aussi une activité de "Winemaking" par achat de raisins et de vins à travers une petite société de négoce: Cuvées "Échappée Bel" rouge et blanc, "Bel en Blanc" et une association avec Julien Ditté sur "Amistat".
Une viticulture ultra raisonnée qui n'utilise plus de pesticides depuis 2005 sur l'ensemble des parcelles et est certifiée agriculture biologique sur les parcelles de Pomerol uniquement. Certains millésimes ont été cultivés en bio sans toutefois réclamer le label.
Un travail au chai dans le respect absolu de la matière première (le raisin) donnant des vins sur le fruit et l'élégance des tannins. Les Bordeaux sont vinifiés en cuve et pour certains élevés un an en barriques. Les Pomerol et Montagne St-Emilion sont vinifiés de façon très artisanale en fûts ouverts de 500 litres, avec pigeage manuel et élevés 2 ans dans ces mêmes fûts.
Le Château de Bel a une image plutôt qualitative dans l'univers des petits Chateaux de Bordeaux grâce à une distribution dans des établissements de prestige (George V, restaurants d'Enrico Bernardo meilleur sommelier du monde, Mama´s shelter, ROB à Bruxelles…) et une revue de Presse bien étoffée notamment dans la Revue des Vins de France et son guide des meilleurs Vins de France ainsi que de fréquentes étoiles dans le Guide Hachette des Vins.
UNE TOUCHE D’ORIGINALITÉ
Bel, c'est aussi des grains de folie, de passion et d'imagination avec la création de cuvées très atypiques comme:
- Le "Franc de Bel": 100% Cabernet Franc assemblé sur plusieurs millésimes
- Le "Bel en Blanc": 100% Muscadelle - cépage authentiquement Bordelais mais un peu oublié - élevée pendant 26 mois
- la plantation récente de Chenin Blanc, superbe cépage emblématique de la Loire, mais proscrit en appellation Bordeaux
- À suivre aussi une cuvée à base de Malbec
- Et sûrement d’autres qui sommeillent encore …
